Catholic Digital Resources™ offers digital resources for RCIA that can be used with or instead of printed materials that your church normally buys for catechists, inquirers, candidates, catechumens, and neophytes.

What's under development?

What do you do with inquirers who call in November or December? You don't want to put them into the Catechumenate classes and make them miss valuable formation, nor do you want to force them to wait until September when the cycle of classes starts again.

Does your program for neophytes end too soon? Are they cheated of the further formation as Catholics they could receive if Mystagogy lasted longer? Do your classes interest them enough to keep them coming longer?

Our Church’s vision of RCIA calls for a minimum of one full year of formation. Catholic Digital Resources wants to provide your parish with ways to hold a year-round program that allows inquirers to become catechumenates whenever they're ready and that inspires neophytes to continue learning while becoming involved in parish ministries.

BISHOP–APPROVED FORMAT

Lesson materials follow the guidelines set by the U.S. and Canadian Bishops as promulgated by the North American Forum on the Catechumenate.

Our leaflets and pamphlets can be downloaded and printed on an as-needed basis by the RCIA Director or Catechist to hand out in class. The materials relate the Sunday readings to the topic of catechesis.

Our line includes PowerPoint presentations, multi-media slide shows, and other instructional content that takes advantage of modern technology to enhance the classroom experience and encourage discussion and fuller participation.

WHY GO DIGITAL WITH RCIA?

In the U.S. and many other countries, the most difficult age group to attract and evangelize are young adults. Many of them were raised by parents who left the faith or stopped going to church regularly. Many were not even baptized. Yet, they are very interested in spirituality and are seeking true faith. In my own parish, the majority of catechumens and candidates are young adults who are very eager to learn.

This generation of new Catholics have grown up in a fast-paced world with lively television and movies. They are easily bored by standard classroom teaching methods. Since they are very technology-oriented and use digital tools for almost everything, digital RCIA materials are ideal for attracting them and forming them in their faith. And of course everyone else will enjoy these materials, too.
