Feast of Saint Joseph the Worker (May 1)
Handout or Bulletin Insert.
Description: Using Colossians 3:14-15, 17, 23-24 and Matthew 13:54-58, the scriptures from the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, we celebrate the dignity of work. All work, when done for the Lord and with the Lord, is important, no matter how small or mundane it seems. Have you ever been devalued because you were “just” something? Just a secretary or just a worker in the lower echelons of the company, or just a stay-at-home mom. Just a young person, just an old man, just a woman, just a lay person, just a deacon? Just a dreamer, just a sick person, just a stranger on the other end of a phone line? Never accept these “just-a” definitions of who you really are.
Ideas for use: Bulletin insert for the week of May 1st, staff meeting, ministry leadership workshop, Ministry Fair, businessmen’s luncheon, Mom’s Group, RCIA class, etc.
